[2023-03-10] Secretary of Infrastructure of Ceará receives Chinese company CRRC Dalian

On the 6th of March, the Secretary of Infrastructure of Ceará, Antonio Nei de Sousa, received the delegation of the Chinese company CRRC Dalian Co., which will produce the Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) of the Airport Branch Line. Being one of the largest manufacturers of trains in the world, the company will deliver to Ceará three vehicles that will transport passengers on the line. The investment for the acquisition of the equipment is about R$ 71 million. The executive secretaries for Planning and Internal Management, Ronaldo Borges, and for Intermodal Logistics and Works, Liana Fujita, also attended the meeting.

The Chinese factory was contracted by the Brazilian company Mob-Railway Tecnologia e Engenharia LTDA, winner of the tender to purchase the LRVs to supply the vehicles for the line.

The vice president of CRRC Dalian, Chen Baining, explained that the company has already exported to 32 countries and has a production capacity of 600 new locomotives per year. The company manufactures diesel and electric locomotives, diesel engines as well as urban rail vehicles.
