On 27 October 2017, the Executive Council completed a discussion on an administrative regulation bill regarding the restructuring of the organisation of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The arrangement aimed to strengthen support for local business associations and enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as undertaking MICE development previously co-ordinated by Macao Economic Bureau.
The bill proposed to enhance the scope of responsibilities, such as promoting the development of the convention and exhibition industry and fostering Macao’s role as a Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries. The bill was effective.
