The delegation Macao entrepreneurs

IPIM organised a Macao entrepreneur delegation of 32 to participate in the 4th China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) from 26 to 28 May. Members of the delegation were representatives from local business organisations engaging in finance, convention and exhibition, trade and business, cultural and creative, tourism and logistics industries.

The Macao Pavilion was set up at the venue. The delegation participated in the Promotional Seminar on Commercial and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese- speaking Countries and the Three Centres plus a networking luncheon co-organised by IPIM and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council. Speeches were given by IPIM’s Executive Director Mrs Irene V. K. Lau and Vice Chairwoman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council Lin Bin.

During the contract signing ceremony at the promotional seminar, three co-operation projects were signed between Macao and Mainland business associations and enterprises. Business matching sessions were also arranged to provide networking and business matching opportunities to enterprises in Beijing and Macao involved in finance, PSCs food trade, convention and exhibition, cross-border E-commerce. The event was participated in by over 120 business association representatives and enterprises.

Beijing Tong Ren Tang was founded in Beijing over 300 years ago and the delegation visited its museum and shop, they were met by the owner and management to share their business experience and conducted networking discussions.

THAIFEX-World of Food Asia 2016 was held in Thailand from 25 to 29 May. IPIM and Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association organised two delegations with more than 50 representatives to participate in the event. The Macao entrepreneur delegation, led by IPIM’s Executive Director Gloria Ung, comprised of representatives from the food and beverage, food trade, food manufacturing sectors and youth entrepreneurs.

The delegations organised by IPIM and Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association also visited a large Macao invested integrated commercial and hotel project in Thailand. They aimed to have better understanding of the financing and construction progress of implementing large projects in Thailand to boost the confidence of investors, as well as capitalising on Thailand’s position at the centre of most ASEAN countries and assist Macao brands to tap overseas markets.
