First Anniversary of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre and the Launch of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Display Areas

The First Anniversary of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre and the Launch of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Display Areas was held on 31 March. The opening of several Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Display Areas on the Mainland China and Macao were announced at the ceremony.

Officiating guests include: Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao SAR Leong Vai Tac, Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region Liu Bin, Director of General Office of the Commissioner of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao SAR Yang Shijun, IPIM’s President Jackson Chang, Secretary-General of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Xu Yingzhen, Deputy Director-General of Economic Affairs Department and Head of the Commercial Office of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region Chen Xing, Consul General of the Republic of Angola in Macao Sofia Silvério Pegado Pereira da Silva, Consul General of Mozambique in Macao Rafael Custódio Marques, Liasion Officer and Chief of China and Mongolia Division of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Clélio Nivaldo Crippa Filho, Commercial Counselor of the Portugal Embassy in Beijing Alexandre Leite, President of the Macau Chinese Enterprises Association and Chairman of the Board of Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited Xu Kaicheng, President of the Macau Importers and Exporters Association Tsui Wai Kwan, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Macao Chamber of Commerce Vong Kok Seng as well as President of Macao Federal Commercial Association of Wine and Food Industries in Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions and President of Macau Union Suppliers Association Sunny Yip.

IPIM’s President Jackson Chang said that, over the past year, the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre has showcased more than 1,000 PSCs’ food and beverage products with the participation of 99 enterprises, including 24 local agents, and a total of over 10,000 visitors has been recorded so far. IPIM actively encourages and works with enterprises and business associations to expand the sales and promotion locations to different areas. Apart from the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre in Tap Seac, a number of display areas have been set up in Macao and on the Mainland, including Chengdu, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Wuhan, as well as Changsha, Chongqing and Jiangmen. The network will be further extended to cities such as Haining, Tianjin, Jinan, so as to jointly promote and fully utilise Macao’s role as a food product distribution centre for PSCs.

In addition, the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre also organised various a series of online and offline activities from 26 February to 30 March to further promote PSCs food products and business opportunities.


PSCs BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES SERIES – SEMINAR ON “IMPORT AND EXPORT TRADE EXPERIENCE SHARING”

The PSCs Business Opportunities Series – Seminar on “Import and Export Trade Experience Sharing”, co-organised by IPIM and the Permanent Secretariat to the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), was held on 24 March. The event was participated by more than 70 representatives from enterprises engaging in local trade and logistics industries.

IPIM’s Executive Director Gloria Ung and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) Ding Tian gave speeches at the event. Representatives of investment and business enterprises from Angola, Brazil, Portugal and East Timor with businesses engaging in crystal, battery, agriculture and information technology shared their experience with the participants. The Q&A and business-matching sessions enabled participants to gain deeper understanding of the investment environment in the PSCs, as well as assisting them to seek business opportunities and promoting trade and economic co-operation development between the two sides.
