The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), one of the winners of the 6th tender for the exploration of hydrocarbons, launched in November 2021 by the National Petroleum Institute (INP), expects to sign contracts for the start of activity soon.

The wish was expressed this week in Maputo by the Executive Director of the Chinese multinational, Xia Qinglong, during a working visit to the headquarters of the National Petroleum Institute, the regulatory body for the oil sector in Mozambique.

The company express the availability of our technical team to engage with the INP in the process of clarifying the contractual terms and the will to start their activities in Mozambique as soon as possible.

In turn, the President of the Board of Directors of INP, Nazário Bangalane, guaranteed that the results of the 6th Concession Tender for Areas for Research and Production of hydrocarbons would give encouraging signs for the continuity of the process toward the signing of new contracts.
