IPIM Holds ONLINE TRAINING COURSE on “How the Association Meetings Market Emerges from the Post COVID Era”

To help MICE practitioners learn about the new strategies employed by associations and chambers of commerce when organising general meetings under the influence of the pandemic, IPIM held an online training course on “How the Association Meetings Market Emerges from the Post COVID Era” on 24 August, with professionals from the industry invited to share their experience and exchange insights with over 50 participants.

Moderated by IPIM’s consultant in the convention and exhibition area Mike Williams, the webinar had three industry professionals from Mainland China, Australia and the Philippines as key speakers, including Managing Director of IME Consulting Alicia Yao, a company specialised in MICE and incentive tour consultation services; Managing Director of Strategic Membership Solutions Belinda Moore, an association consultant company; Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) Octavio Bobby Peralta. The speakers discussed and exchanged ideas on several topics regarding the post-pandemic era, such as the factors considered by associations when selecting meeting destinations, the way association events are held, and the strategies of bidding for association meetings in the future, and elaborated on the topics with case study. The keynote speakers mentioned that they had noticed that some of the associations faced a number of issues including decreased income, changes of how events were held, risk evaluation and management.
