“SME Special Online Lectures” Held Successfully

Co-organised by IPIM, Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, Macao Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry Association, Industry and Commerce Association of Macau and Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association, three sessions of the “SME Special Online Lectures” were successfully held on 17 June, 24 June and 1 July respectively. The webinars attracted a total of over 430 participants from SMEs and industries and were well received.

The first lecture was delivered by Mr Ng Wah Wai, Director of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macau, who shared his views on how to reform the management strategies of traditional family-run businesses in Macao to meet the changing times. The second lecture was given by Mr James Luo, Council Member of the Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association, centring on branding with digital means. Mr Lao Mei Cheong, Council Member of Macao Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry Association, shared in the third lecture the application of digital transformation of practical tools. On the same occasion, Mr Choi Siu Tong, Deputy Secretary of the Association shared how a cross-border e-commerce platform project, envisioned by the Association, could help Macao enterprises enter major e-commerce platforms in the Mainland China with at a low threshold.

The lectures were held by IPIM via online meeting platform due to disease control, with technical support provided by the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre. The event was well received and actively joined by a number of chambers of commerce and associations from multiple sectors. The event combined different resources and platforms to jointly support Macao SMEs to learn from the industry’s development pioneers and absorb practical information to master new business trends and seize new opportunities in the new era.

Representatives of organisers
