Industrial Association of Macau visits IPIM

On 24 June, Mr Chui Yuk Lum, President of the Industrial Association of Macau (AIM) and his delegation visited IPIM and met with Mr Benson Lau Wai Meng, the President of IPIM, and Mr Sam C. S. Lei, Executive Director of IPIM. During the visit, the delegation gave an update on the preparations for the “7th Macao Industrial Products Show” to be held from 1 to 4 October this year and exchanged views with IPIM on the work of both sides.

During the meeting, President Chui Yuk Lam expressed his gratitude for IPIM’s support for the past two editions of the event. The first Macao Industrial Products Show was held as early as in 1981 and was re-opened for the fifth edition in 2018 to provide an exhibition and sales platform for Macao enterprises, to promote the qualitative development of “Made in Macao” and “Macao Brand”, and to explore Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking Countries market. In particular, the “MinM Pavilion” showcases intelligent production equipment and introduces industrial development trend to the public, especially young people. In view of the normalisation of the prevention and control of Novel coronavirus pneumonia, the Association will tie in the SAR Government’s guidelines with the formulation relevant epidemic prevention measures to minimise the risk of epidemic transmission during the event. At the same time, he hoped that the show this year could provide assistance to the small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by the epidemic, so as to work in line with the SAR Government’s objective of “ensuring employment, stabilising the economy, and guaranteeing people’s livelihood”.

Representatives of AIM who also visited IPIM this time included Mr Lei Si Tai, Mr Wong Sai Man and Mr Wong Tim Fok, Vice Chairmen of Board of Directors as well as Ms. Rosita Cheang, Secretary General.
