Macao Entrepreneur Delegation Joins the First China International Import Expo in Shanghai

Macao entrepreneur delegation at the Macao and Lusophone Food and Beverage Pavilion at the “Food and Agricultural Products” exhibition area at the CIIE

On 4 and 5 November, the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Chui Sai On led the delegation of Macao SAR Government to take part in a series of activities of the First China International Import Expo (CIIE).

In the meantime, under the lead of the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Leong Vai Tac, IPIM organised a delegation composed of nearly 90 Macao entrepreneurs to participate in the First CIIE in Shanghai from 4 to 6 November. The delegates are from a various sectors, including trading, finance, technology, hotel and tourism, dining, manufacture and professional services.

In the “Food & Agricultural Products” exhibition area and the “Trade in Services” exhibition area at the CIIE, IPIM respectively set up the Macao and Lusophone Food and Beverage Pavilion and the Lusophone Market Professional Services Pavilion, wherein 39 Macao enterprises engaging in Made-in-Macao products and agencies of Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSC) food and beverage products, as well as PSC professional services providers exhibited their featured products. By taking part in the CIIE, IPIM and the enterprisers were able to demonstrate and give full play to the advantages of Macao’s positioning as “One Centre, One Platform” together.

During the business mission in Shanghai, IPIM collaborated with the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) to host the “Macao Investment Co-operation Forum – Introduction to the Commercial and Trade Cooperation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, which attracted the participation of more than 120 CIIE attendees. Business matching and consultation services for corporate investment were also provided on-site at the event.

The Macao delegation also met with the representatives of the Shanghai Baoshan People’s Government, visited some of the robot developers in Shanghai, the China 3D-Printing Cultural Museum and the Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries Wine and Food Exhibition Centre.
