From 6 to 9 September, IPIM arranged for a delegation of around 40 Macao entrepreneurs to attend the 20th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen city, Fujian. IPIM set up a Macao Pavilion at the CIFIT, in a bid to publicise the latest attractions of Macao’s investment environment, the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs) platform and the emerging industries of Macao, which include the convention and exhibition industry, featured finance and traditional Chinese medicine industry.
The delegation also participated in the Macao-Fujian Investment Co-operation Forum – Promotion Seminar on China-PSC Platform and Featured Finance, which was jointly organised by IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province, and supported by the Monetary Authority of Macao and the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Federation of Entrepreneurs. More than 150 attendees joined the said activity, including leaders of the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province and representatives of local enterprises, chambers of commerce from PSCs and Macao companies. Enterprise promotion seminars were held during the activity, where enterprises were invited to present investment projects. Business matching sessions and Macao investment environment advisory services were arranged after the Forum.
The delegation also visited the Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone and a number of facilities thereof, including the city planning exhibition and the youth entrepreneurship base, as well as the Island Research Center of State Oceanic Administration and the tourism facilitations in Tannan Bay. In addition, the delegation also paid visit to the Xiamen University National Science Park, its facilitation facilities and had meeting with the person in-charge of the Science Park.
