The Entrepreneurs Meeting for Commercial and Economic Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries-Lisbon-2018 was successfully held on 21 and 22 June. With the theme China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Jointly Opening the New Chapter of Productive Co-operation, the event was joined by more than 400 attendees.
Guests participating in the Opening Ceremony included Vice Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Ho Hau-wah, Secretary of State of Internationalization of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal Eurico Brilhante Dias, Vice Minister of Commerce of China Gao Yan, Secretary for Economy and Finance of Macao Leong Vai Tak, President of AICEP Portugal Global-Trade and Investment Agency Luís Castro Henriques and Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Chen Zhou.
Secretary of State Eurico Brilhante Dias, Vice Minister Gao Yan, Secretary Leong Vai Tak, President Luís Castro Henriques and Vice Chairman Chen Zhou respectively delivered speeches at the Opening Ceremony. The Meeting facilitated the signing of 24 agreements, covering co-operations among governments and the ones between government and associations and trade co-operations among commercial associations, Renmenbi clearing and settlement services, technological collaboration, healthy food importation and many more subjects. The event also allowed over 80 business matching sessions, involving a wide array of industries such as food trade, technology, aviation, finance, service industry. The Roundtable Conference on Business and Investment Environment of Markets in China and Portuguese-speaking Countries was held concurrently, which was joined by representatives from eight Portuguese-speaking Countries, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and IPIM. In addition, many panel sessions were held to allow in-depth discussion on business start-up, infrastructure, Macao’s finance platform and China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Federation of Entrepreneurs.
Aside from participating in the Entrepreneur Meeting, the delegation of nearly 60 Macao entrepreneurs led by Secretary Leong Vai Tak and organised by IPIM visited local industrial and logistics park as well as infrastructure enterprises in Portugal.
The Entrepreneur Meeting 2019 will be held in São Tomé and Príncipe.
