IPIM Participates in the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings China 2018 in Shanghai

IPIM organised a delegation of Macao convention, exhibition and tourism industries to visit Shanghai from 21 to 23 March and participated in the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings China 2018 (IT&CM China 2018).

A promotional luncheon was hosted by IPIM during the event. IPIM’s Executive Director Irene Va Kuan Lau gave a briefing to more than 90 guests comprised of Mainland MICE organisers, destination management companies and MICE service providers, particularly those from Shanghai, and promoted Macao’s strengths in the convention and exhibition industry as well as the “One-stop Service” for MICE Bidding and Support in Macao. Signature Macanese dishes were specially prepared by Macanese chef Antonieta Fernandes Manhão for the luncheon. Two networking cocktail receptions were organised under the theme of “Creative City of Gastronomy”. The two events attracted more than 200 local and overseas potential buyers and representatives of the convention and exhibition industry.

IPIM also set up the Macao Pavilion at the IT&CM China 2018, with promotional counter providing display and commercial negotiation platform for 27 enterprises including local hotels, travel agencies, professional convention organisers, destination management companies and convention service providers. More than 600 business matching sessions were arranged and the activities were well-received by the participants. Representatives of IPIM also participated in more than 20 business-matching sessions arranged by the event organiser and conducted commercial negotiations with potential buyers and promoted Macao as a desirable venue for MICE events.
