Guangdong Trade and Economic Delegation Participates in 22nd MIF

CPC Core Group Member of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province Chen Yunxian led a Guangdong trade and economic delegation to participate in 22nd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair.

Angola and the Guangdong province were invited to be the Partner Country and Partner Province of this year’s MIF and set up themed pavilions respectively. The Angola, Guangdong and Macao Trade and Investment Forum was also organised. The Guangdong Pavilion was set up and exhibits were presented through images showcasing seven aspects such as reform and innovation, the latest outcome from the active participation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as promoting its investment and business environment, to further promote trade and economic networking and co-operation between Guangdong province and PSCs.

During the event, Mr Chen Yunxian attended the opening ceremony of the 22nd MIF, the launch of the Guangdong Pavilion as well as the Angola, Guangdong and Macao Trade and Investment Forum respectively. In the afternoon of 19 October,
Mr Chen attended the Forum and gave a speech, hoping that the event will provide an opportunity to deepen bilateral co-operation between Guangdong and Macao as well as those with PSCs including Angola, and broadening trade liaisons and fostering international co-operation on production capacity. Deputy Director-General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Chen Yuehua also gave a briefing on Guangdong’s investment environment and signed a memorandum of strategic co-operation on behalf of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province with IPIM.

The Guangdong-Macao Cross-boundary E-commerce Networking Seminar Organised by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province in Macao

The Guangdong-Macao Cross-boundary E-commerce Networking Seminar was organised by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province in Macao on 31 October. The event was well-received by enterprises in Guangdong and Macao and was participated by more than 150 representatives of enterprises, business and trade associations.

Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Ren Shao gave a speech at the event and said that the country has attached great importance to the development of E-commerce in recent years. It has become a vital component in fostering foreign trade transformation and enhancement, as well as a driving force in leading world economic development and establishing new rules in international trade. He also stressed that the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province has been focusing on establishing a good E-commerce environment, it is hoped that the seminar will provide an opportunities to further strengthen E-commerce co-operation between Guangdong and Macao and jointly develop a favourable environment for Guangdong-Macao E-commerce integrated service.

During the event, representatives from trade associations of related E-commerce in Guangdong and Macao introduced the development of E-commerce in both areas. Case study sessions were conducted by enterprises including vip.com, JD.com Inc, and Top Ideal SCM Services Group Co Ltd. Macao enterprises expressed strong intention to work with Guangdong enterprises and some enterprises have already reached preliminary consensus on co-operation.
