[2024-04-12] Suzano sends the world’s largest pulp cargo by ship to China

Suzano has announced that its 72,000 tons of pulp will arrive in China on April 9 – the largest volume of this product ever transported by a company in the world in a single shipment. For the coming months, with production expected to increase after a new mill comes on stream, the company is preparing to start more shipments with new vessels of a similar magnitude.

The maritime transport to China was carried out by Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers on the Green Santos, announced as the largest pulp transport ship in the world, with a capacity to carry 77,000 tons. It left the port of Santos (SP) on March 4 for Asia.

Robust cargo shipments are expected to continue. This is because the ship, which was delivered at the end of 2023, is part of a fleet of vessels of a similar size that will be delivered in 2024, according to Suzano.
