[2024-04-05] Shineray’s SWM Motorcycles to enter Brazil

Of Italian origin, SWM Motorcycles has been part of the Chinese group Shineray since 2014 and will be responsible for high-cylinder models in Brazil.

After confirming a new motorcycle brand in Brazil, SWM Motorcycles, Shineray’s Brazilian division has signed a contract to begin regulatory testing of the Italian company’s models, which will come to Brazil in 2025. The CEO of Shineray do Brasil, José Edson Medeiros, went to Chongqing, China, to sign the agreement.

According to the brand, this was another step towards the homologation of SWM’s medium and high displacement motorcycles, which will arrive on the Brazilian market from next year. The contract signed by Medeiros was with China Merchants Vehicle Research (CMVR), the institute in charge of carrying out the regulatory tests on the Italian automaker’s first models.
