The Confederation of Economic Associations (CTA) of Mozambique plans to present projects valued at US$25 billion at the Annual Private Sector Conference 2020, said the chief executive of the employers’ organisation.

Eduardo Sengo said he had a meeting with a representative of the African Development Bank (Afdb), during which the portfolio of projects for sectors such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure, tourism and logistics for the area of oil and gas was assessed.

The 17th Annual Private Sector Conference will take place in Maputo from 5 to 9 May and the aim is for it to be an investment conference where Mozambican and foreign companies can do business.

Sengo said the CTA planned to carry out initiatives that would have an economic and social impact in the country, looking towards the energy sector, for example, to ensure increased access by the population and opening up business opportunities for the private sector.

For this year’s conference, the CTA has a partnership with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apiex) to host the investment conference and with Invest in Africa, an institution specialising in the connection between the agricultural sector and the oil and gas sector.
