[2019-11-22] Civil construction in Angola creates of 28,000 jobs in two years

The Angolan construction and public works sector has created 28,000 new jobs in the last two years, during which time 1,600 new business licenses were issued to companies, said Construction and Public Works Minister Manuel Tavares de Almeida, said.

The minister was speaking during the commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the Civil Construction and Public Works Regulatory Institute (IRCCOP), held under the motto, “Excellence in citizen-focused services and in creating a prosperous and sustainable business environment.”

Tavares de Almeida said that the sector is committed to the ongoing process of reducing red tape, as well as the modernisation of working methods, speeding up the resolution of processes, according to the Jornal de Angola newspaper.

He also stressed that more space and facilities should be opened up for the investment of private projects that contribute to the country’s growth and development and that leads to the creation of jobs and tax revenues for the state.

According to the minister, the prevailing adverse internal and external context has significantly affected the country’s economic and social performance, with dire consequences for employment, income and the welfare of the population.

During the meeting, several panels were presented, highlighting the automatic issuance of permits, through a computer platform, which are printed on anti-fraud paper, with various security mechanisms to prevent them being falsified.
