[2019-07-17] Fidelidade insurance group negotiates investment reinsurance services in seven countries with China Reinsurance Corp

Fidelidade has signed an agreement with China Reinsurance Corp to offer reinsurance to Chinese projects and investments abroad, the Portuguese insurer said in a statement released on Monday.

The countries covered by the agreement signed include Portugal, Spain, France, Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde and Peru, adding that the company will “be able to diversify its scope of action and develop new opportunities for international business growth, reinforcing its offer to the Chinese community present around the world.”

The Fidelidade group offers a range of solutions and services for the protection of people and goods that are totally differentiated and customised for the Chinese community. It has a Chinese business unit with a network of bilingual agents, a call center in Mandarin, a “Wechat” service and website that is also in Mandarin.

The Fidelidade insurance company is controlled by the Fosun International Limited group through Longrun Portugal, SGPS, with a holding of 84.9861%, with the Portuguese state financial group Caixa Geral de Depósitos as strategic shareholder holding 15%.
