The Angolan President will preside over the opening session of the World Tourism Forum (WTF) in Luanda, which will be attended by Angolan Tourism Minister Angela Bragança and the president of that organization, Turkey’s Bulut Bagci, according to the official programme.

This WTF meeting is the second to be held in Africa after Accra, the capital of Ghana, and has previously been hosted in Turkey, the United Kingdom, Qatar, the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

According to its president, the World Tourism Forum has an investment of US$1 billion planned for Angola to help develop the sector in the country.

Angola will work with the WTF for a minimum of five years, with a view to developing tourism, attracting investors and promoting the image of Angola.

This meeting, which will run until Saturday in Luanda with leaders of the tourism industry from across the world, will address topics such as “Tourism in Africa,” “Digital or computerised tourism,” “The role of government in business travel,” “Why invest in Angola?” and “The secret or the success story of tourist destinations,” among others.

The event, which will bring together about 1,500 delegates, may bring investment opportunities in the construction, transport, energy and water and agriculture sectors and create jobs.
