MEETING OF THE TASKFORCE FOR THE PROMOTION OF ZHONGSHAN-MACAO COOPERATION 2017

A commercial co-operation agreement signed between IPIM and the Bureau of Commerce of Zhongshan City

The Meeting of the Taskforce for the Promotion of Zhongshan-Macao Co-operation 2017 was held in Zhongshan on 17 May. During the meeting, the Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac said that Macao will fully utilise its strengths and seek innovation in cooperation with Zhongshan, to complement each other’s strengths and actively participate in the development of the national “Belt and Road” initiatives, and work with Zhongshan in “attracting investment” and “going global”.

After the meeting, Secretary Leong Vai Tac and the taskforce members visited the Macao Interaction Area in the 760 Creative Industry Park in Zhongshan and officiated over the unveiling ceremony. The industry park is a one-stop platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship set up by the Macao SAR Government through Parafuturo de Macau. It is a breakthrough in the cooperation model to support youth development in Macao and Zhongshan under the co-operation framework between Guangdong and Macao, as well as the first project in the Guangdong-Macao Full Implementation Demonstration Zone jointly developed by the two sides.

In addition, the Framework Agreement on the Co-operation in Setting up the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre was signed between the Bureau of Commerce of Zhongshan City and IPIM at the meeting of the Taskforce. Related SAR Government departments will organise Macao and PSCs enterprises in the second half of the year and organise visits to Zhongshan industries with keen development in recent years, particularly priority industries such as the healthcare industry. The government departments will also make full use of Macao’s role as a platform and continue to co-organise or assist Zhongshan government departments in organising delegations to PSCs and EU, as well as participating in exhibitions and related trade and economic events.

During the meeting, the working groups on the Cuiheng New District, commerce, tourism, culture, education and youth also reported on their work progress.

Secretary Leong Vai Tac and the delegation also visited the National Health Technology Park and the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Zhongshan.


THE LAUNCH OF GUANGDONG-MACAO GOVERNMENT AND BANK CO-OPERATION ON BUSINESS REGISTRATION

Guests at the Launch of Guangdong-Macao Government and Bank Co-operation on Business Registration

Co-hosted by the Guangdong Province Administration for Industry and Commerce and IPIM, co-ordinated by China Guangfa Bank and co-organised by the Macao Chamber of Commerce, the Launch of Guangdong-Macao Government and Bank Co-operation on Business Registration was held on 19 May. Through the event, the organisers aimed at rendering support to local enterprises, particularly the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and enabled them to understand the service better and seize the business opportunities. The event attracted the participation of nearly a hundred Guangdong and Macao enterprises.

IPIM’s Executive Director Gloria Ung and Deputy Director of Guangdong Province Administration for Industry and Commerce Zhang Wenxian gave speeches at the event. Other guests also briefed the participating Guangdong and Macao enterprises on further details about the related service. The project provides services to Macao enterprises and individuals intended to invest in Hengqin of Zhuhai, Foshan (including Shunde), Dongguan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen. They can authorise the China Guangfa Bank to file application for business registration and banking services. The bank provides online service to enterprises for company name pre-approval, company business registration application and business licence collection. The enterprise concerned will go to the branch of the China Guangfa Bank near the registered business address to collect the hard copy of the business licence, open a settlement account and pick up an e-licence bank card. The e-licence bank card, a free electronic business licence with financial features, is jointly issued by the Guangdong Province Administration for Industry and Commerce and the China Guangfa Bank. The enterprises can complete government administrative procedures and other financial businesses with the e-licence bank card.
