Enterprises Expand Trade and Economic Exchange via “Macao Week in Chongqin”

70 representatives of enterprises take part in the “Chongqing-Macao-PSCs MICE,
Commerce, Trade and Investment Presentation Session”

The “Macao Week in Chongqin” mega roadshow was held at Jiefangbei Square, Chongqing from 2 to 6 December 2021. IPIM organised 24 Macao enterprises to exhibit and sell products during the roadshow, and joined hands with the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce to hold the “Chongqing-Macao-PSCs MICE, Commerce, Trade and Investment Presentation Session”, in which 70 enterprises’ representatives took part. These companies mainly engaged in supermarket, wine trade, product retail and wholesale, hotel, catering, e-commerce, cultural tourism and convention and exhibition. 68 business matching sessions were held.

During the “Chongqing-Macao-PSCs MICE, Commerce, Trade and Investment Presentation Session”, Executive Director of IPIM Agostinho Vong Vai Lon and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce Song Gang respectively delivered a speech. At the presentation session, IPIM, the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, and investor representatives from China and PSCs introduced to the participants the investment environment and supporting services in Macao, the Intensive Co-operation Zone and PSCs. IPIM also arranged for participating Macao enterprises to attend business matching sessions with local enterprises and put their products on display and offered free taste samples in a bid to help the enterprises fully showcase their brand and expand their market. Consultation services were also offered via video calls made on-site to provide instant answers to enquiries from enterprises with an interest in running business in Macao. Enterprises with an interest in investing in the Intensive Co-operation Zone could also enquire on-site about relevant business information.

Featured products from Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries were showcased at the five-day event “Macao Week in Chongqin”. Through the “Chongqing-Macao-PSCs MICE, Commerce, Trade and Investment Presentation Session”, it created business opportunities for enterprises, publicised Macao’s presence as a healthy and safe city for doing business and travelling, motivated mainland tourists to visit Macao and boosted local economy.

Mascots of “Let’s Hang Out” popped up during the roadshow to interact with participants on-site. The “Let’s Hang Out interactive photo-taking spots” and “popular slang wall”, were set up to promote PSCs’ culture in an interesting and lively manner, adding a Portuguese touch to the event. During the roadshow, a number of influencers from the mainland and Macao livestreamed their visits to different exhibition areas, with over 100 million views recorded.
