IPIM and Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Jointly Organise Delegation of Macao Enterprisers to Inspect the Intensive Co-operation Zone

On 17 November, IPIM and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province jointly organised a delegation of 30 Macao enterprisers to inspect the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin and visit some of the Macao investment projects in the zone, in order to facilitate understanding of the local business environment and commercial services and enhance communication and co-operation.

Led by Executive Director of IPIM Vincent U, and Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Promotion Division of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Wang Yi, the delegation inspected the Integrated Services Centre of the Intensive Co-operation Zone, and the “Macao-Hengqin Business Symposium” was held during the visit. At the symposium, Vincent U and Wang Yi delivered a speech, and Acting Director-General of the Economic Development Bureau of the Intensive Co-operation Zone Lei Chi Wai António, and Acting Deputy Director-General of the Commercial Services Bureau of the Intensive Co-operation Zone Yau Yun Wah introduced the delegation to the local investment policies, business environment and commercial registration procedures. Macao young entrepreneurs investing in Hengqin, including Chairman of We Park (Hengqin) Development Ma Zhida and CEO of Pachira (Zhuhai Hengqin) Information Technology He Guotao shared their experiences with the attendees to jointly explore development opportunities in the Intensive Co-operation Zone.

The delegation then paid a visit to some of the business projects and logistic facilities in the Intensive Co-operation Zone that have been invested in by Macao enterprises, including the AHA Jinyuan International Business Plaza, DCH Logistics Centre and Serensia Woods. During the visit, the delegation also exchanged opinions and explored co-operation opportunities with project representatives.

This event brought together and promoted co-operation among enterprise representatives from Macao and Hengqin in sectors such as MICE, commerce and trade, manufacturing, traditional Chinese medicine, catering, retail trade, cultural and creative business, and information technology.
