“Macao Week in Sichuan·Chengdu” Continues Boosting “Tourism + MICE” PSCs-related Event Launched to Enhance PSCs-Chengdu-Macao Economic and Trade Development

The “Macao Week in SichuanChengdu” mega roadshow was staged at Jiaozi Plaza from 23 to 27 September to promote Macao’s diversified tourism and business advantages. IPIM organised 35 Macao enterprises to participate in the event to promote Made-in-Macao products, Macao brands and Portuguese-speaking Countries products distributed by Macao agents.

During the event, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and IPIM worked with relevant industries from Macao and held the “Macao Week in SichuanChengdu” – Macao Tourism and MICE Presentation Seminar and a meeting with the sectors. There were around 140 participants, including Director of MGTO Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Deputy Director of MGTO Cheng Wai Tong, Executive Director of IPIM Vincent U, Director and Deputy Director of the Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Chengdu Municipal Doyang Namu and Wang Min, Deputy Director-General of Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition cum Vice President of CCPIT Chengdu Sub Council Mao Yan, and members of the MICE sectors.

In addition, IPIM and the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce collaboratively organised the “Chengdu-Macao Business Matching and Networking Session”. 103 enterprises from various industries including trade, food/product retail and distribution, electronic commerce, tourism, participated in the event. A total 82 matching sessions took place, covering areas such as food souvenir and wine distribution, essential oil collaboration project, products’ launch on e-commerce platform. During the session, IPIM representatives introduced the participants to the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, Macao’s investment environment and IPIM’s services. Macao enterprises took the opportunity to showcase and offer a taste of their products in the venue, where consultation services for running businesses in Macao were also offered via video calls for participants to immediately get answers to their questions.

Taking the opportunity arising from the “Macao Week in SichuanChengdu” to give full play to Macao’s function as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSC), IPIM joined hands with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Sichuan Council, Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), Macau Association of Banks, Macao Lawyers Association, and China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Investment Management Company Limited, and held the “Join Macao, Seize PSCs Opportunities” Investor Presentation Session. The event introduced some of the PSCs’ projects, professional financial and legal services. Nearly 100 enterprises took part in the event.
