IPIM Organises a Delegation of Macao Entrepreneurs to Attend the 3rd CIIE

The opening ceremony of “3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) and Hongqiao International Economic Forum” was held on 4 November in Shanghai. Mr Xi Jinping, the President of China delivered a keynote speech via video at the opening ceremony.

The 3rd China International Import Expo was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The event took place from 5 to 10 November at the National Convention & Exhibition Centre (Shanghai).

Macao SAR Government actively participated in the event both online and offline. Mr Lei Wai Nong, Representing the Chief Executive of Macao, Secretary for Economy and Finance join the opening ceremony online. Mr Benson Lau Wai Meng, President of IPIM attended the opening ceremony in Shanghai as head of the delegation of Macao entrepreneurs. IPIM organised a delegation of over 70 Macao entrepreneurs to take part in the event.

Based on the experience of joining the past two editions of CIIE, the delegates led by IPIM came from a wide range of industries, including trade, convention and exhibition, e-commerce, science and technology, food, hotel and tourism, dining, manufacturing and professional services.

IPIM set up pavilions respectively in the “Food and Agricultural Products Exhibition Area” and the “Service and Trade Exhibition Area” at the venue. IPIM also organised 41 Macao enterprises to exhibit Made-in-Macao products, food and beverage products from Portuguese-speaking Countries, accounting and translation services in Macao.

Meanwhile, through multimedia equipment, the “Food and Agricultural Products Exhibition Area” has showcased Macao’s participation in the “Belt and Road” initiative and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting Macao’s advantage as a service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, introducing relevant information such as Macao’s investment environment, trade services and the development of MICE industry. The pavilion offered free tasting and arranged business matching sessions.
