The Summit was jointly organised by the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government and the Zhuhai Municipal Government; it was co-ordinated by IPIM and the Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

More than 1,200 people took part in the Summit. They included: representatives of relevant authorities of the Central Government; officials of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and of the Macao SAR Government; along with businesspeople and association representatives respectively from the Portuguese-speaking Countries, from Zhuhai, and from Macao. A total of 20 agreements relating to Macao-Zhuhai co-operation projects were signed during the 2019 Macao-Zhuhai Entrepreneur Summit.

Officiating at the Summit were: Mr Zhang Hu, Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province; Mr Leong Vai Tac, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government; Mr Huang Guang, Advisor to the Department of Exchanges and Co-operation of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council; Mr Zeng Shangzhong, Vice-Director of the Department of Regional Economy of the National Development and Reform Commission; Mr Guo Yonghang, Secretary of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China; Mr Wang Xindong, Secretary-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; and Mrs Irene Va Kuan Lau, President of IPIM. In addition, parallel dialogue sessions were held during the Summit, covering several topics: youth innovation, featured finance, Macao-Zhuhai cross-border trade, Macao-Zhuhai tourism development, and professional services.

The B2B (Business to Business) business-matching sessions arranged during the Summit attracted more than 150 business people and association representatives either from Portuguese-speaking Countries or from Zhuhai. They were drawn from a number of sectors, including: the food and drink trade; export and import/foreign trade; clothing; cosmetics; and tourism.
