Opening ceremony of the “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair – Jiangsu, Changzhou”

The “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair – Jiangsu, Changzhou” promotion event took place in Changzhou from 22 to 24 November. It was organised by the Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, with the Macao SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR as steering organisations. IPIM was the event’s supporting organisation.

The “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair – Jiangsu, Changzhou” included a total of six exhibition areas, namely: “Elegance of Macao” (exhibition area by the Macao SAR Government); “Portuguese Elements in Macao” (exhibition area for products from Portuguese-speaking Countries); “Taste of Macao” (creative food exhibition area); “Macao Fashion” (exhibition area focused on fashion and culture), “Macao Nostalgia” (Macao souvenir exhibition area); and “Macao Style” (exhibition area for household goods).

During the promotional event, representatives from IPIM took part in a Jiangsu-Macao exchange session on the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry, with Mr Sam Lei, Executive Director of IPIM as one of the panellists. IPIM representatives gave an overview of the development of Macao’s MICE industry and participated in the session’s question-and-answer segment.

For the “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair – Jiangsu, Changzhou”, a number of bodies set up jointly a Macao SAR Government exhibition area covering a total of 162 square metres. The bodies were: IPIM, the Macao Economic Bureau, the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), and the Macao Consumer Council. The exhibition area aimed to offer visitors an up-to-date overview of Macao’s investment environment; promote Macao’s MICE industry and showcase the business support services offered by IPIM. The latter included provision of information on the Economic and Trade Co-operation and Human Resources Portal Between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as well as information on the “Belt and Road” initiative.
