Representatives of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Promotes Investment Advantages in France

On 20 June, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region joined hands to host the Workshop on the Investment & Business Environment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which was joined by more than 400 representatives from the political and commercial sectors in France. During the event, the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao motivated French enterprises to make good use of the market strengths of the three places and develop their business in the Greater Bay Area.

The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim and Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in France Wu Xiaojun, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam, the Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province Ouyang Weimin, representatives of the Macao Special Administrative Region and IPIM’s President Jackson Chang respectively delivered speeches at the event.

In addition, President Jackson Chang visited the President of Europe-China Economic and Trade Association Ding Weixing and President of Wenzhou Chamber of Commerce in France Hu Jingping, and exchanged insights into Macao’s investment environment and the development of Chinese businessmen in Europe. Also, enterprises members of the two associations were invited to Macao for partaking in major conventions and exhibitions hosted by IPIM.

This event has not only stimulated French companies to invest in Macao, but also motivated deeper co-operation among the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. During the event, IPIM received many enquiries from French companies about making investment in Macao, involving a wide array of industries including infrastructure, energy, fashion, e-commerce, consultancy and wine trading, suggesting a strong interest of French enterprises in Macao’s China-PSC platform, MICE platform and business environment.
