Second Anniversary of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre

This year marks the second anniversary of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Food Products Exhibition Centre (the Exhibition Centre), the physical store of the “food product distribution centre for Portugues-speaking Courtries (PSCs)” among the Three Centres. In conjunction with the 15th anniversary of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), a celebration ceremony was organised by the Exhibition Centre on 22 March.

Guests attending the second anniversary celebration of the Exhibition Centre included the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Leong Vai Tac, Former Vice Minister of Commerce of PRC Chen Jian, the Governor of the Central Bank and Former Minister of Planning and Finance of São Tomé and Príncipe Hélio Almeida, Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste and Former Minister of Development and Institutional Reform of Timor-Leste Arcanjo da Silva, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department and Head of the Trade Office of Commercial Office of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Chen Xing, Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Wang Jiabao, Brazilian Ambassador to China Marcos Caramuru de Paiva, Consul General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong Vitor Sereno, IPIM’s President Jackson Chang, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) Xu Yingzhen, Director for Asia and Oceania of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Agostinho André de Carvalho Fernandes, President of Cape Verde TradeInvest – Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Cape Verde Ana Denise Lima Barber, General Director of Investment Promotion Agency of Guinea Bissau Hussein Bruno Jamil Jauad and the Director for Asia and Oceania of Mozambique’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation Belmiro José Malate.

Witnessed by the guests, three PSCs product co-operation agreements were signed, including a commodity procurement co-operation project facilitated by the Economic & Trade Co-operation and Human Resources Portal between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (the Portal), as well as PSCs food products exhibition co-operation agreement signed between IPIM and an enterprise.

Currently, a total of 30 Portuguese-speaking Countries food products exhibition areas have been set up, including seven in Macao and 23 on the Mainland.
