‘Conference Ambassador’ scheme helps attract international events to Macao

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) launched the °ßConference Ambassadors°® programme, successfully inviting six personalities from the fields of medicine, civil construction, sports, information technology and chemistry, to perform that role for the city.

The ambassadors are: Orlando Monteiro da Silva, former President of the FDI Dental Federation; Zhu Lilan, former Minister of Science and Technology of the People°¶s Republic of China; He Jintang, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Li Ning, former member of the National Men°¶s Gymnastics Team of the People°¶s Republic of China; Professor Tsui Lap-chee, a prestigious specialist in molecular genetics; and Liu Chung Laung, a member of the Advisory Council of the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund.

With the combined efforts of the relevant entities in Macao, the programme aims to take advantage of the influence of the °ßConference Ambassadors°® in their respective professional fields in order to promote the advantages of Macao as a host destination for conferences. The Macao SAR Government will collaborate with the °ßConference Ambassadors°® on various matters in order to attract national and international conferences to the city.
