Brazil’s soybean exports totaled 2.3 million tons in January. The pace of shipments grew significantly when compared to the same period in 2023, when shipments reached 944.3 thousand tons, according to data from the National Association of Exporters (Anec), released on February 7.

Of the total soybeans traded abroad last month, China, the largest global buyer, acquired 1.7 million tons, or 75% of the total exported.

In January, corn exports totaled 3.4 million tons. Of the volume of corn exported in January, China continued to be the main destination, with 29% of the total volume, which corresponds to 1 million tons, reported Anec.

Soybean and corn exports are expected to slow down in February compared to the same month last year. Soybean shipments should reach 7.3 million tons and in the case of corn, the volume should increase to 773.9 thousand in February.
