[2023-05-18] Huawei partners with Rio Alto Group to Develop Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Photovoltaic Power Plants

Huawei Digital Power, a subsidiary of Chinese multinational Huawei, announced a partnership with Rio Alto Renewable Energy Group for the joint development of artificial intelligence solutions in photovoltaic plants. The expectation is that Rio Alto’s Coremas (365 MWp) and Santa Luzia (550 MWp) solar power complexes will be fully automated with artificial intelligence technology provided by Huawei within two years.

This partnership strengthens a collaboration started in 2017 between the companies, which have already carried out power generation projects in the municipalities of Coremas and Santa Luzia, located in Paraíba, where Rio Alto maintains two solar complexes.

In the coming months, Rio Alto plans to acquire from Huawei new equipment, such as inverters and transformers, to expand the power generation project by another 1 GW, totaling 2.4 GW.
