The new proposal for a Law on the Legal Regime of Foreign Citizens in Angola opens up tourism and investment in the country, the Interior Minister said on Tuesday in Luanda.
The document, approved by the specialised committees of the National Assembly, regulates the legal regime of entry, exit, stay and residence of foreign citizens in Angolan territory.
Ângelo Tavares stressed that this new law intends to increase the speed of processing documentation for foreign citizens and open up tourism and investment in the country.
The minister, quoted by the Angop news agency, recalled that some exemptions have already been created that allow tourists to enter the country more easily.
“Tourists can access the platform of the Migration and Foreign Service without having to go to diplomatic and consular offices, fill out the form and in national territory receive their visa for multiple entries,” noted the minister.
The investor’s visa, one of the new aspects of the new proposed Law, is granted by the immigration authority to foreign investors, representatives or attorneys of an investing company, to carry out an approved investment proposal, pursuant to the Private Investment Law.
The investor visa allows multiple entries and stays of up to two years, extendable for an equal period of time, according to the activity upon which it was granted.
