[2019/02/15] 2019MIECF to be Held in Late March Promoting Ecological Civilization and Green Development
The “2019 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition” (2019MIECF) will be held from March 28 to 30, featuring the theme “Promoting Ecological Civilization and Green Development”. It continues to play its role as an international platform that promotes environmental technology transfer and sustainable development for the countries along the “Belt and Road”, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking countries, European countries and the rest of the world.
The 2019MIECF is hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, with the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment as its special supporting organisations. It is co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region and coordinated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Environmental Protection Bureau.
This year’s MIECF continues to advance international environmental exchange and co-operation among “governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users, and financial sectors”, offering an exciting line-up of activities such as the Green Forum, Green Showcase, Green Business Co-operation Day, Green Matching and Networking, and Green Public Day. Coupled with other forums and business matching and networking sessions, “The Ways toward Ecological Civilization” and “Green Finance” will be highlights of the 2019MIECF. The “Greenovation Zone” is newly set up to offer displays and networking activities related to innovative green technologies to promote the application and exchange of innovative environmentally-friendly technologies. The three-day event will collaborate with the “Online Business Matching Service Platform” (http://bm.ipim.gov.mo) and hold on-site industry exchange sessions to support business matching and networking activities.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of the MIECF, which debuted in 2008. With its stable progress, the event has played a pivotal role as an international platform to promote technology transfer between global environmental industries and sustainable development. The MIECF was recognised by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in 2011 as a “UFI Approved Event” and granted the “Excellence Conference and Exhibition Award 2017” of Macao. The outcomes the MIECF brings about have been broadly acknowledged in the MICE industry. Last year’s MIECF witnessed the signing of 35 agreements and 349 on-site business matching sessions held in the Green Matching zone, bringing together over 50 pioneers in the environmental protection industry, leaders of multinational corporations and regional policy-makers from different countries and regions to share their visions, as well as the latest corporate strategies and industrial tends.
