The “2021 Guangdong & Macao Branded Products Fair” (2021GMBPF) will be held at Hall D of The Venetian Macao for three consecutive days starting today (26 November), and is open to the public for free. This year, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province have further integrated the online and offline activities of the 2021GMBPF that continue to feature shopping, leisure and entertainment, offering a wide range of products, providing local residents and tourists with a good place to relax.

Covering an exhibition area of 9,000 square metres, the 2021GMBPF has nearly 400 booths and offers the “Macao Featured Products Area”, the “Guangdong Branded Products Area”, the “Belt and Road Exhibition Zone”, and the “Smart Life Area” for the sale of a diverse array of branded products ranging from electrical appliances, scientific innovations, cultural and creative products, food, tourist products, daily necessities to jewellery.

Chefs present Cantonese and Macao cuisines and workshops share authentic delicacies

The “Cuisine Channel” that was well received last year is further upgraded. This year, famous catering enterprises from Mainland China are invited to take part in a series of cooking workshops to make Portuguese, Cantonese, Indonesian, Burmese, Malaysian and Thai specialities with the participants. There will also be flamboyant cooking demonstrations and promotions of Internet-famous food in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, where guests and visitors can get to taste some of the authentic delicacies, promoting Macao’s diverse food culture and image as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Exploring hidden good stuff with the host

Free guided tours will be available at the 2021GMBPF, during which the hosts will take visitors to explore the must-buy, must-eat, must-play, and must-see branded products and highlights of the Fair. Visitors who participate the entire tour will be given a free food coupon and a special price of MOP1 to buy mystery boxes that offer a random set of various branded products such as food and daily necessities.

Creative workshops are held for participants to enjoy making handicrafts

To motivate residents to have fun making handicrafts, free workshops will be held during the 2021GMBPF for visitors to make natural skin care and disinfection products on site.

Lucky draws are hosted to offer prizes worth over a million patacas

Lucky draws will be hosted at the venue. Visitors who have followed “MICE_IPIM” on WeChat and completed designated tasks, or spent at least MOP300 for any type of products can take part in the lucky draw and have a chance to win prizes such as electric motorcycles, the latest smartphones, game consoles and so on.

Thorough epidemic prevention measures and free shuttle bus services

The opening ceremony of the 2021GMBPF will be held tomorrow (27 November). A series of epidemic prevention measures are taken to ensure the safety of participants. All exhibitors and staff must be vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 nucleic acid test result certificate issued within 7 days. Disinfection measures, crowd management measures and on-site hygiene guidelines are in place. All individuals entering the event venue must undergo temperature checks, present their “Macao Health Code” and wear a mask.

To encourage the use of public transportation and green commuting, the 2021GMBPF offers six free shuttle bus routes travelling to and from the event venue in Macao Peninsula and Taipa.
