[2021/11/10] Three Exhibitions Assist Traders in Seizing More Opportunities

The 26th Macao International Trade and Investment (26th MIF), the Macao Franchise Expo 2021 (2021MFE) and the 2021 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2021PLPEX) will be held concurrently at The Venetian Macao from 10 to 12 December. Exhibitors who participated in last year’s exhibitions understand the effectiveness of the three exhibitions, where they can not only explore business opportunities and expand business collaboration through the online platform but also increase offline sales for their business through the offline exhibition platform.

Explore Business Opportunities through the Three Exhibitions, Promote “Made in Macao” Products and Expand Portuguese-speaking Countries Market

Ms Chan, who is engaged in the manufacturing of medical supplies, pointed out that her company participated in MIF for the first time last year to promote “Made in Macao” facemasks, and successfully signed two co-operation agreements with large integrated tourism and leisure enterprises in Macao and Portuguese-speaking countries. Therefore, her company decided to participate in the Fair again this year, hoping to explore the Mainland market through the platform of the three exhibitions, seek collaboration and expand the scope of business, and gradually promote “Made in Macao” products to the global market.

Mr Wang, the representative of a tea company, brought Fuzhou jasmine tea to the “Fujian Pavilion” and the online exhibition of MIF to showcase his company’s products, services, and traditional tea culture to traders from all over the world through both online and offline platforms. His company also took part in business matching during the Fair, reaching an agreement on sales co-operation with a company in Macao engaged in Mozambican agricultural products, and a number of interested customers approached to discuss collaboration opportunities.

Get in Touch with Partners and the Effects Last after the Exhibition

Mr Kong, who runs a Taiwanese snack chain in Macao, was an exhibitor at MFE and the online exhibition last year. He said that his company reached a partnership agreement with a well-known hotel in the Mainland through the Fair, which helped to enhance brand awareness and boosted offline sales by 40% after the Fair. Therefore, he hoped to participate in the Fair again this year.

Utilise the Advantages of Online Platforms to Connect with Traders Overseas

Executive Director of the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce, Bobby Chi, who has participated in the Fair for two consecutive years, said that last year the Chamber organised a number of Brazilian companies to participate in the online and offline business matching activities of PLPEX, among which the companies participating in the online negotiations were interested in frozen food products such as acai berries and chicken feet, and both sides had further intentions to purchase, while some supermarket chains also wished to place group orders. Also, a biopharmaceutical company in the Mainland, which participated in the online business matching session, arranged a consultation meeting with the Brazilian Ministry of Industry on the feasibility of importing vaccines for poultry with the help of the Business Matching Service Team, and are now exploring market collaboration. He believed that the online functions of the three exhibitions could break geographical and time constraints and help promote economic and trade exchanges and co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
