[2019/09/27]The 24th MIF to Kick Off in Mid-October, Establishing a Foothold in Greater Bay Area and Connecting China and Portuguese-speaking Countries to Create Business Opportunities
The “24th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (24th MIF) will be held on 17 to 19 October at The Venetian Macao. Cape Verde and Jiangsu Province have been invited to be the “partner country” and the “partner province” respectively of this year’s fair. Through exhibitions, forum discussions, project matching and various activities, the MIF is dedicated to building a bridge for exhibitors and attendees, thus promoting regional economic and trade exchange and co-operation. In addition, the “2019 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2019PLPEX) will be held concurrently with the 24th MIF.
Under the theme of “Co-operation – Key to Business Opportunities”, the 24th MIF covers a variety of domains such as investment environment and investment projects at home and abroad, cultural and creative industries, featured finance, smart technology, food and wine, fashion design, health care, e-commerce, and SME product exhibition & sales. The “Technological Innovation Zone” is set up this year as the upgraded version of the “Smart Zone” debuted last year, covering scientific research achievements, innovation ideas, e-commerce, environmental protection technology, smart life and other innovative and uncommon products and services, and acting as an international exchange platform of intelligence projects for technological innovation enterprises. At the same time, the exhibition will combine the advantages of the “commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries” to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It will hold a number of themed forums on the opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, with an aim to help the Greater Bay Area “go global” and “bring in investment” while carrying out foreign economic and trade co-operation.
In order to help exhibitors find partners, promote products and services, and facilitate business expansion, the 24th MIF and 2019PLPEX will provide a series of free services on site for participating enterprises including business matching and promotion, procurement negotiations, brand agency. The “Online Business Matching Service Platform” pre-registration service also helps promote the combination of exhibition and business negotiation and increase the effectiveness of business matching. In addition, electronic payment services will continue to be available in the Macao SMEs Exhibition Zone of the 24th MIF to provide more diversified and convenient payment methods for participants.
As one of the annual international economic and trade events of Macao, the MIF has been continuously optimising itself in the past 23 years by enhancing its internationalisation, expanding the scale, improving overall quality, and optimising the concept and strategy of the organisation of the event. More than 1,500 booths were set up in the 23rd MIF in 2018, and more than 30 forums, conferences and promotional events were held in conjunction with the 2018PLPEX held concurrently. The signing centre of the three-day fair witnessed a total of 75 contracts being signed, and more than 400 matching sessions were held in the Business Matching Area.
