MIECF has been receiving generous support from the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region (including Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Hong Kong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan and Yunnan) and various overseas and local sectors in terms of organising high-profile dele-gations to take part in MIECF in Macao, which, by enabling the effective and worldwide interaction among “governments, industries, universities, research institutes, users, and financial sectors”, turns the event into an in-ternational platform that fosters the development of environmental protec-tion industry co-operation, technology transfer and sustainable development for the countries along the “Belt and Road”, Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Portuguese-speaking Countries, the EU and the rest of the world.

Law on Implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for the International Trade in Rough Diamonds entering into force on 1 October

The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, abbreviated as KPCS, aims to eradicate the illegal trade of conflict diamonds in Africa to maintaining peace and stability, and is an international trade scheme that preserves the order of rough diamond trade.

The Macao Special Administrative Region implemented the KPCS through the People’s Republic of China on 1 October 2019, with Law No. 15/2019 - Law on Implementation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for the International Trade in Rough Diamonds entering into force on the same day. In accordance with the requirements, all international trade in rough diamonds must be accompanied by a Kimberley Process (KP) Certificate issued by the government of the exporting country or territory, and shall be limited to only among KP member, which prohibit import of rough dia-monds in absence of a Certificate issued by a KP member, as well as export of rough diamonds to non-KP members.

Online Business Matching Service Platform

Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute’s (IPIM) brand new Online Business Matching Service Platform is now available for local and overseas entrepreneurs to enjoy self-service business matching and ease of expanding their markets.

Through this open-source platform, registered users will be able to participate in the business matching sessions in the exhibitions and events organised by IPIM. Furthermore, users will be able to advertise or search for collaboration projects, screen interesting projects, and pre-arrange meetings with interested parties and generate a preliminary meetings schedule.

Anytime Fitness Macao

Anytime Fitness Macao was established by Lei A Company Limited which is the franchisee of the international gym brand (Anytime Fitness) in Macao. The gym is located at 96 -126, Rua do Guimaraes, Caravel Hotel Shop D & H, with a total area of around 4,500 square feet.

With the assistance of IPIM’s “One Stop Service” and the coordination of the “Investment Committee”, the investors successfully obtained the Administrative Permit of Gym Centre from the Sports Bureau of Macau SAR Government in March 2019 and the gym has already brought into operation.
