Online registration for the exchange of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes and four previously issued Zodiac banknotes commencing on 1 August

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the two Issuing Banks will issue the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes with face value of MOP20. The joint online registration for the exchange of the said banknotes, together with the four previously issued Zodiac banknotes, will commence on 1 August.

Each Macao resident can exchange for 5 pieces of the 20th Anniversary of the Return of Sovereignty of Macao banknotes issued by each Issuing Bank, making a total of 10 notes from the two Issuing Banks. On the other hand, the tentative exchange quantity for the Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig Zodiac banknotes of each Issuing Bank is 6 pieces, making a total of 48 pieces of the four types of Zodiac Banknotes from the two Issuing Banks. Depending on the final number of registrants, the actual quantity to be exchanged may be adjusted upwards and will be announced after the end of registration period.

Consumer Council handled 2,300 cases in first half of 2019

The Consumer Council handled a total number of 2,295 cases in the first half of 2019, the total number of cases has dropped by 15 percent year-on-year, whereas the 1,323 complaint cases recorded this time has raised by 40 percent year-on-year.

Complaints and inquiries from tourists amounted to 515 cases, about 22 percent of the total number, the 446 complaint cases recorded this year has raised by 7 percent year-on-year.

The top 5 categories are personal care products and services (112 cases), public transportation (105 cases), clothing & apparel (104 cases), jewellery (87 cases), and food and beverage (85 cases), these categories amounted to about 37 percent of the total complaint cases (493 cases) received in the first half of 2019.

Facilitation Services for Commercial Registration in Nine Cities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

In order to encourage Macao enterprises to invest in cities in the Greater Bay Area by optimising the commercial registration procedures of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for Macao enterprises, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) inked an co-operation agreement with the Guangdong Market Supervision & Administration Bureau to roll out the Facilitation Services for Commercial Registration in Nine Cities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which assist Macao enterprises and citizens in completing commercial registration for investing or starting up business in the nine Mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing.

   
 
 
   

Online Business Matching Service Platform

Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute’s (IPIM) brand new Online Business Matching Service Platform is now available for local and overseas entrepreneurs to enjoy self-service business matching and expand their markets.

Through this open-source platform, registered users will be able to participate in the business matching sessions in the exhibitions and events organised by IPIM. Furthermore, users will be able to advertise or search for collaboration projects, screen for preferable projects, and pre-arrange meetings with interested parties and generate a preliminary meetings schedule.
