| | | The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-Boundary Disputes Mediation Model Rules are rolled out (Source: Legal Affairs Bureau) The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-Boundary Disputes Mediation Model Rules were released on 30 December 2022. The above document was formulated jointly by the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province, the Department of Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Secretariat for Administration and Justice. It was endorsed at the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Legal Departments Joint Conference on 16 December 2022. The release of this document will be facilitating the alignment of mediation rules of mediation institutes in the Greater Bay Area, playing an important role in the development of the mediation sector in the Greater Bay Area. The purpose of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-Boundary Disputes Mediation Model Rules is to provide the best solution for parties involved to resolves disputes with mediation in a friendly, voluntary, confidential and unhostile manner. The Rules serve as a reference for mediation institutions and mediators in three different regions when formulating detailed mediation provisions. | | | | Songhuahu Dumplings put in more investment during the pandemic period Lake Chong Fa Catering Group Limited is currently operating six Songhuahu Dumplings Restaurants and a food processing factory. The group’s shareholder Iris U has been working in Macao’s catering industry for many years. Despite the pandemic’s impact on the city, she was confident in Macao’s future prospect and put in more investment. The group has opened a branch on 3/F of Shopping Centre of The Venetian Macao. With the help of the Investor’s “One-stop Service” provided by IPIM and the Investment Committee, the branch obtained a group-5 catering establishment licence in December 2022. Taking the economic recovery into account, the investor now plans to open more branches in different hotels in the city. |

| | | Global Timber Index (GTI) Monthly Report Released The Global Timber Index Platform GTI Report Press Conference and International Workshop on Global Timber Market Trend, collaboratively organised by IPIM and the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO), and coordinated by the Global Green Supply Chains (GGSC) Secretariat, was held in Macao on 8 December 2022. The first GTI Monthly Report was officially published at the event. At the Press Conference, the report on global timber index of seven pilot country, namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Congo, Gabon, Brazil, Maxico and China, was published internationally in Chinese, English, Portuguese, French and Brazilian languages. The report was compiled based on the analysis of data submitted by all pilot countries in the end of November 2022, covering various aspects including logging, production, order, stock, procurement, which are indicators of the latest developments of the global timber industry. In the future, GTI Monthly Report will be continuously updated on the International Tropical Timber Organisation’s website. |

| Fábrica de Massas Alimenticias Kuok Kei: A Story of Traditional Noodles The Fábrica de Massas Alimenticias Kuok Kei (Kuok Kei) started as a small business for the surrounding community, adhering to the business philosophy: "making good noodles and ensuring the quality and safety before selling to customers". In addition to the quality of food products, Kuok Kei also insists on no preservatives in the products. Until today, Kuok Kei has been supplying fresh noodles to major hotels, restaurants and eateries in Macao. Kuok Kei joined IPIM’s “Macao Ideas” in 2011, using the online and offline promotion channels of “Macao Ideas” to raise awareness of the brand. Kuok Kei also actively participates in trade fairs as part of the IPIM delegation in the Mainland. Kun Kuok Weng, the second generation successor of Kuok Kei believes that as long as customers are aware of these "Made in Macao" products, it will be helpful for brand promotion of many SMEs. |

| | | Travessa, Beco & Pátio: Macao’s lanes and alleys under warm street lights Hon Colour Advertising, Planning & Design Limited is dedicated to “Travessa, Beco & Pátio”, a project focusing on the in-depth exploration of the people and culture of Macao’s alleys and lanes. A series of cultural and creative products have been created to allow visitors to experience Macao’s unique culture and to bring the spirit of Macao's alleys and lanes to the outside world. The company joined IPIM’s “Macao Ideas” in 2021. Through the participation of “Macao Ideas, Join & Match” Business-matching Showcase organised by IPIM, business matching sessions were held with local and overseas business guests to help identify business opportunities and expand the market. In the future, the company hopes to promote their products and Macao's "Travessa, Beco & Pátio" culture to the Mainland and even Portuguese-speaking Countries through the MICE platform and promotional activities of Macao. |
