| | Business Environment Optimisation – multiple measures to help enterprises explore opportunities The Macao SAR Government strives to enhance the business environment and local community economy, help local enterprises improve, strengthen the industries’ foundation and support the continuous growth of different sectors with various cross-departmental measures of the Macao SAR Government. Introducing investment is an important booster for Macao’s market and the city’s appropriate diversification of economic development. IPIM will continue to provide more specific services and implement strategic measures in terms of attracting investment. In respect of the optimisation of Investor’s “One-stop” Service, through the coordination enabled by the cross-departmental mechanism of the Investment Committee, licensing procedure and technical problems are now settled with shorter period of time. In addition, to meet the needs of the four key industries, the Pharmaceutical Administration Bureau joined the Investment Committee in July 2022. |

| | | Appropriate diversification of economy: “Tourism+” cross-sectorial synergistic collaboration stimulates multiple sectors recover The Macao SAR Government continues to deepen the “Toursim+” cross-sectorial collaboration to generate synergy and enhance the interactive development of tourism industry and the peripheral industries, bringing energy to a great number of sectors. To interest more event organisers to hold MICE activities in Macao, IPIM has held different promotional activities including seminars and business matching sessions publicising Macao’s MICE advantages with the private sectors, including MICE, commerce and integrated resorts. On top of that, the first “Macao Convention and Exhibition Environment Tour” will show potential traders the software and hardware facilities of Macao’s convention and exhibition industry. With the development of key industries in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin as foundation, and all-round facilities of Macao’s MICE sector, IPIM has been working closely with the relevant department in the Co-operation Zone to foster the synergistic development of the four key industries and the MICE sectors of both regions. By far, a communication mechanism has been established to formulate measures that will mutually support the MICE sector of both regions and enhance the appropriate diversification of economic development. |

| | | | Golden Mix Food and Beverage Factory expended despite pandemic The investors Mr Wong Wang Kai and Ms Ng Sao Ieng are the founders of the local food brand “Golden Mix Dissert”. Having run for 14 years, there are four stores in the city, with its very first located next to the Inner Harbor in Patane. In addition to Chinese and Western salty and sweets, it also provides seasonal seafood cuisines. In the meantime, the investors also opened a Golden Mix Café in Areia Preta, which is well received in the neighbourhood. In pursuit of a systematic management and better quality control of food production, the investors set up the Golden Mix Food and Beverage Factory in 2019, and obtained the food safety management system certification ISO22000:2018. In 2020, the factory obtained the industrial licence with the help of IPIM’s “One-stop” Service and the Investment Committee. For better development, the investors expanded its investment in 2022 by purchasing an industrial space in another block (Avenida de Venceslau de Morais, No. 679, Edf. Industrial Nam Fong, Bloco II, 4-Andar-C) of the industrial building, and expanded the factory’s function. |

| | | Information on Trade in Goods between Mainland China and Portuguese speaking countries in 2021 In 2021, the total merchandise trade between Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries was valued at US$ 201.64 billion, an increase of 36.1% year-on-year. Based on the abovementioned situation of trade in goods, three characteristics can be summarised: first, the total merchandise trade value has reached a record high again; second, the growth rate exceeded that of the overall merchandise trade in Mainland China; third, the imports and exports with the main trading partners of Portuguese-speaking Countries maintained a steady growth. |

| Dora Tam Design: A Dialogue between Western Jewellery Design and Eastern Aesthetics At the 2000 De Beers International Diamond Design Competition, the diamond tiara “Tiara” shone brightly with elegance. The designer of this wonderful piece is Dora Tam, the only winning Chinese designer in the competition. Since then, she has determined to develop her jewellery design career and founded “Dora Tam Design Lda.” in Macao, creating exclusive jewellery and gifts for customers. Dora Tam's work is inspired and energised by the warmth of Macao community and the city’s unique mix of eastern and western cultures. She has made friendship rings, confession rings, proposal rings and wedding rings for couples, as if she had been involved in their life stories. Dora Tam's work has been published on various social media platforms and her own website, through stationed in Macao Ideas of IPIM to enhance promotion and accumulate a large fan base over the years, especially in Japan, where she has had customers coming to Macao to order personalised products. |

| | | TCM Science: Drawing New Blue Print of “Made in Macao” It is the consensus of all sectors of Macao society to promote the appropriate diversification of Macao's economy and integrate into the overall development of the country. Particularly, the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) industry has attracted more and more attention. MCCY Science Product Manufactory was founded in 2014. It has a factory in Macao for health food products with an area of 13,000 square feet. It has multiple production lines and is constructed in accordance with international GMP (good manufacturing practice) standards, providing services such as research & development of product formulation, production, testing, packaging and marketing of health products. At present, some products have been launched in the brand’s official flagship shops on various large-scale e-commerce platforms in the Mainland, and the sales and feedback are satisfactory. The products of MCCY Science Product Manufactory have been certified by Macau Product Quality Certification Scheme (“M-Mark”) and “Tested” Mark Product Certification Programme (Macao)., MCCY Deputy Director Hoi Sio Po believes, “Made in Macao” is like a substantial label which can help enhance customer confidence in products and market competitiveness. He also reveals that through the business matching service of IPIM, he has successfully co-operated with a listed enterprise in the Mainland big health industry, providing OEM production of health products for them. In the future, he hopes to reach a wider market for "Made in Macao” products through the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”. |
