| | | The 5th China International Import Expo Date: 5 to 10 November 2022 Location: National Exhibition Convention Center (Shanghai) The “China International Import Expo” (CIIE) is jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) will join the 5th CIIE and run both online and offline promotion campaigns, by arranging influencers to make promotional clips for exhibits on-site, publicising Macao brands and made-in-Macao products, helping Macao enterprises “go global” and explore business opportunities. As the world’s first national-level exhibition with the theme of imports, the CIIE plays the role of four major platforms, i.e., international procurement, investment promotion, people-to-people exchanges and open. So far, CIIE has been successfully held four times and has already become an international public product shared by the world. Since 2018, IPIM has participated in the CIIE for four consecutive years. In the 5th CIIE, IPIM plans to set up a “Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries F&B Products Pavilion” in the food and agricultural products exhibition area and a “Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries Professional Services Pavilion” in the service trade exhibition area. IPIM will continue to organise Macao enterprises with delegation of entrepreneurs participating in the CIIE and will arrange business matching activities. | |

| | | “Macau Beer” Brews the Glamour of the Small City Each city has its own unique rhythm and ambience, and a local beer brand symbolises the life blood running through the city and represents cultural vitality and enthusiasm, renders distinct features of the city’s image and presents the special lifestyle of local residents from a different perspective. “Macau Beer” is such a local beer brand named after the city. Now, let’s take a sip of the refreshing wheat beer and I shall tell you the unique story of Macao. Over the years, Macau Beer has been involved with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) to participate in a number of MICE events in the hope of promoting the flavour of Macao through beer. The company’s acquaintance with Tsingtao Beer during the Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair – Qingdao at the end of 2020 led to it hosting the Macau - Qingdao Beer Cultural Festival in July 2021, hoping to gain inspiration for the production of a more memorable flavour through combining two beer brands. During the event, two seasonal limited editions of beer were launched, namely the raspberry flavoured “I have been to Travessa da Paixão” and beech wood flavoured “Macau Amber Ale”. |

| | | Workers Playground: A Fashion Clothing Brand about Rock & Roll and Speed Workers Playground is an original clothing brand founded by Macao designer Cheang Chi Tat (Vincent Cheang) in 2010, focusing on street culture clothing. The brand's name is inspired by the long-gone “Workers Sports Ground” of the city, which embodies the collective memory held by a generation of Macao people and highlights the spirit of Macao culture. The brand has not only been officially licenced for the Greater China region by the famous Japanese anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, but has also successfully entered the Mainland market with its own clothing products. Workers Playground successfully entered Macao Ideas of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute in 2011. Vincent Cheang reveals that running a clothing brand is more difficult than one might think. Since opening his first store in 2012, he has moved location no less than five times. However, for his passion and dreams, he has continued to work tirelessly despite the challenges. With limited funds, he has tried out various promotional methods, and he believes that participating in the related MICE events has been very effective. |
