Matthew Chao, born and raised in Macao, China, completed his Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Technology (Artificial Intelligence) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is the founder, chairman, and CEO of BoardWare Intelligence Technology Limited—Macao’s first IT company to receive the “Medal of Merit – Industry and Commerce”, the first “Key Technology Enterprises” certified by the Macao Government, and the first Macao IT company listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (1204.HK). He is a member of the 8th Legislative Assembly of the Macao SAR appointed by the Chief Executive, a member of the Macao Science and Technology Council, a member of the Electoral Affairs Commission for the Chief Executive Election, a member of the 14th Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the director of the Brain-Computer Digital Fusion Joint Laboratory of the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, and the president of the Macao-Hengqin Cultural and Technology Industry Association. He has also won many awards such as the Outstanding Young Entrepreneur of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the “Leading by Example Gold Medal” at the 9th Annual Business Awards of Macau. With over two decades of experience in the IT sector, he is renowned as a pioneering science and technology entrepreneur in Macao, boasting significant proficiency in managing innovative technology teams.
