The \u201c27th<\/sup> Macao International Trade and Investment Fair\u201d (27th<\/sup> MIF), the \u201cMacao Franchise Expo 2022\u201d (2022MFE) and the \u201c2022 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)\u201d (2022PLPEX) will be held concurrently at the same venue with a wide range of highlights.<\/p>\n

Promoting the development of four key industries<\/strong><\/p>\n

Revolving around the four key industries, the 27th<\/sup> MIF will include the \u201cCHEXPO MACAO 2022\u201d, the \u201cChina (Macao) International Cultural & Creative Industry Exhibition 2022\u201d and the \u201cScience and Technology Week 2022 cum Exhibition of Achievements in Science and Technology Innovation\u201d as \u201cexhibitions within exhibitions\u201d.<\/p>\n

Among them, the \u201cChina (Macao) International Cultural & Creative Industry Exhibition 2022\u201d, organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), will make its debut in Macao as a platform to enhance exchanges and co-operation in the cultural and creative industries.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s exhibitions will be attended by more than 300 enterprises engaged in the four key industries. On the first day of the events, the \u201c\u2018Innovation-driven Investment and Financing Project Matching\u2019 MIF Themed Business Matching Session\u201d will take place. Other activities will also be available, including themed business matching sessions for traditional Chinese medicine and \u201cbig health\u201d projects and themed business matching sessions for high-tech and technology projects, covering elements such as \u201cbig health\u201d, high-tech and modern finance.<\/p>\n

Reinforcing regional co-operation<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a bid to reinforce regional co-operation, the 27th<\/sup> MIF has invited Zhejiang province as its \u201cpartner province\u201d. A \u201cZhejiang Pavilion\u201d and a \u201cZhejiang Commodities Pavilion\u201d will be set up to showcase Zhejiang-themed images and a number of local products, allowing visitors to have an all-round experience of the charm of Zhejiang province. In the meantime, Zhejiang province will organise the participation of nearly 30 well-known local enterprises in MIF in Macao. The \u201cMacao Pavilion\u201d will set up an exhibition area for the \u201cGuangdong-Macao In-Depth Co-operation Zone in Hengqin\u201d and invite representatives of the Co-operation Zone to provide consulting services for traders on the site.<\/p>\n

Promoting exhibitions to traders from four Mainland provinces and one municipality<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the electronic travel permits for Mainland visitors to Macao will be resumed and four Mainland provinces and one municipality (Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai) will resume tour groups to Macao soon, MIF is actively working to invite traders from these places to participate in the events. This year, more than 180 entities from the \u201cfour provinces and one municipality\u201d will take part in the exhibitions.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s MIF will host the \u201cZhejiang-Macao-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Co-operation and Exchange Conference\u201d, the \u201c12th<\/sup> Industrial and Commercial Summit between Jiangsu-Macao-Portuguese Speaking Countries\u201d and the \u201cFujian, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Trade Co-operation Conference\u201d, and organise field trips to Zhuhai for Macao enterprises, to prepare these companies for leveraging a series of forthcoming preferential measures for Macao and tapping their target markets.<\/p>\n

Deepening economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leveraging the strengths of Macao as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, the 2022PLPEX will set up a \u201cRemote Exhibition Area\u201d to display over 200 products from Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as a \u201cTasting Area\u201d and a \u201cG100 Exhibition Area\u201d to promote the wine and culture of Portuguese-speaking countries. A series of activities will be available during the three exhibitions, including the presentation ceremony for the \u201cG100 x 2022PLPEX The Most Promising Portuguese-speaking Countries Wine and Spirits Awards\u201d and \u201cPortuguese-speaking Countries Business Matching Session\u201d as part of the efforts to deepen economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.<\/p>\n

Supporting the development of local SMEs in various ways<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supporting local SMEs is also one of the tasks of this year\u2019s exhibitions. The 27th<\/sup> MIF\u2019s \u201cMacao SME Pavilion\u201d has increased the number of booths from 80 to 180 and will offer different discounts to stimulate the consumption of participating traders.<\/p>\n

The 2022MFE will set up an \u201cIP Authorisation Pavilion\u201d, a \u201cMacao Brand Story Pavilion\u201d and a \u201cOne-stop Business Support Centre\u201d, in a bid to promote IP collaboration and the development of Macao\u2019s local cultural and creative industries, re-shape the brands of SMEs and create more value. Meanwhile, specialist consultants will be stationed on-site to provide advice on packaging and design, as well as legal services, to give SMEs various supports for them to consolidate their foundations and pursue transformation and upgrading.<\/p>\n

During the 2022MFE, a series of activities will be available, including the \u201cFranchise Knowledge Seminar\u201d, the \u201c2nd<\/sup> Forum on \u2018Macao Classic Brand\u2019\u201d, the \u201cConvention and Exhibition Driving Force Sharing Session\u201d and the \u201c\u2019Macao Ideas\u2019 Business Matching Session\u201d, to assist enterprises in different development stages.<\/p>\n

Giving full play to \u201cMICE+\u201d collaboration and its \u201cmultiplier effect\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the three exhibitions, IPIM will organise the \u201c\u2018Macao MICE Promotion Seminar\u2019 and \u2018Macao MICE Environment Experience Tour\u2019\u201d for non-local participating traders and local businesses in the MICE sector to meet up and exchange ideas and experience Macao\u2019s MICE supporting facilities, in an effort to promote the strengths of Macao\u2019s MICE and attract different industries to host MICE activities in Macao.<\/p>\n

In addition, guided tours will also be organised for traders participating in the three exhibitions to visit the small shops in local communities. The purpose is to help participating traders to connect more efficiently with small local business establishments, give full play to the \u201cMICE + Tourism\u201d collaboration, and enable the \u201cmultiplier effect\u201d of the MICE economy to benefit a wider range of areas and fields in Macao.<\/p>\n
