The 2021 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2021PLPEX), in collaboration with the \u201cGlobal Ingredients, Taste of Shanghai\u201d catering event, has earlier released the first \u201cGlobal Wine\uff0eShanghai Wine List \u2013 Recommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries in 2021\u201d. By doing so, 2021PLPEX aims to foster economic, trade and cultural exchanges and co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, leverage Macao\u2019s advantages as the platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, highlight the theme of 2021PLPEX \u201cGrasping Co-operation Opportunities and Opening up New Horizons via China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Platform\u201d, and meanwhile produce synergy with Shanghai, the partner city of the 26th<\/sup> Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (26th<\/sup> MIF). Representatives of the winning enterprises believe that the event can improve the popularity of the products from Portuguese-speaking countries in the Chinese Mainland and thus fuel the publicity and promotion for the event. The winning wines from these companies are even acclaimed by Shanghai enterprises. In addition, a wine list awards ceremony, Portuguese-speaking countries\u2019 wine tasting and promotional activities will be held at 2021PLPEX.<\/p>\n

20 wines from Portuguese-speaking countries presented by Macao agents receive titles<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cGlobal Ingredients, Taste of Shanghai\u201d catering event was successfully held for the past three years and became a trendsetter for the development of the local industry. For the series of activities of the launch of \u201cGlobal Wine\uff0eShanghai Wine List\u201d, over 10 professional judges including international wine tasters, senior sommeliers and wine merchants from Shanghai were invited to taste the wines included on the newly launched \u201cRecommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries in 2021\u201d. 20 wine brands from Portuguese-speaking countries presented by Macao agents participating in 2021PLPEX have won the titles of \u201cExcellent Brand of the Year\u201d, \u201cQuality Brand of the Year\u201d, and \u201cFeatured Brand of the Year\u201d.<\/p>\n

Award titles enhance publicity and provide direction for future product selection<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Kuok, an award-winning exhibitor and representative of a Macao agent for products from Portuguese-speaking countries at 2021PLPEX, said he was very happy that the three wines presented by his company had won the titles of \u201cExcellent Brand of the Year\u201d and \u201cQuality Brand of the Year\u201d. He pointed out that the three winning wines had hence been known and recognised by many consumers in Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, which not only further enhanced the popularity of the products and the power of their publicity and promotion but also provided a direction for the company to explore its product selection strategy in the future. Moreover, by participating in the \u201cPSCs\u2019 Wine Tasting\u201d event organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) during the 4th<\/sup> China International Import Expo (CIIE), three winning wines have attracted two to three enterprises from Shanghai to reach initial purchase intentions and many Shanghai companies have expressed interest in other businesses of the company. He hopes to provide these enterprises with the most authentic and original products from Portuguese-speaking countries and also drive the development of the company\u2019s other businesses.<\/p>\n

Bringing award-winning wines to the stage of 2021PLPEX<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Cho and Mr Kuok, representing another exhibitor and a Macao agent for products from Portuguese-speaking countries at 2021PLPEX, mentioned they were very surprised that their two cherry liqueurs and one wine had won the titles of \u201cQuality Brand of the Year\u201d and \u201cFeatured Brand of the Year\u201d in the wine list review. They said that their company had set up sales points in the Greater Bay Area including Zhuhai and Zhongshan in the hope of establishing sales points all over China in the near future so as to popularise the wine and culture of Portuguese-speaking countries. They suggested that the \u201cRecommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries\u201d could be held in other places besides Shanghai to help promote wine from Portuguese-speaking countries. Additionally, they plan to participate in the wine tasting and promotional activities and showcase the three winning wines at 2021PLPEX in December for visitors to enjoy and review.<\/p>\n

Award-winning wines are favoured by enterprises from Shanghai<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Lam and Mr Sun, the representatives of an exhibitor and a Macao agent for products from Portuguese-speaking countries at 2021PLPEX, said that the titles of \u201cQuality Brand of the Year\u201d and \u201cFeatured Brand of the Year\u201d awarded by the Wine List not only promoted the three wines but could also probably open the door to other cities in the Chinese Mainland, especially those in the Greater Bay Area, through the relatively mature wine market in Shanghai. During the CIIE, they also participated in the \u201cPSCs\u2019 Wine Tasting\u201d with their award-winning wines. The results and arrangements were beyond their expectations. Not only did professional wine tasters serve as judges, but hosted buyers were also invited to the event, many of them were interested in their company\u2019s award-winning wines. And three letters of intent were also signed on site. They hope that the \u201cPSCs\u2019 Wine Tasting\u201d will continue to be conducted in different places to provide an additional communication channel for enterprises.<\/p>\n

A <\/strong>wine list awards ceremony and <\/strong>Portuguese-speaking countries\u2019 wine tasting activities will take place during 2021PLPEX<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition, an awards ceremony of the \u201cGlobal Wine\uff0eShanghai Wine List \u2013 Recommended Wine List of Portuguese-speaking Countries\u201d in 2021, the Portuguese-speaking countries\u2019 wine tasting and promotional activities will be held at the exhibition venue of 2021PLPEX. The activities will generate synergy and create a networking platform linking enterprises from all over the world and will serve as a reference guide for professional purchasers\/distributors to procure wines from Portuguese-speaking countries.<\/p>\n
