“Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair-Tianjin”

The “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair-Tianjin”, hosted by the Macao Convention and Exhibition Association, with the Macao SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR as the steering organisations, and IPIM as the supporting organisation, was held in Tianjin from 13 to 16 July. IPIM’s Executive Director Sam Lei, Deputy Mayor of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government Zhao Haishan, and Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Chen Xing presided over the “eye-dotting” ceremony.

The “Dynamic Macao Business and Trade Fair-Tianjin” was held concurrently with the “Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in Tianjin China 2018”. There were six exhibition areas respectively, including: Elegance of Macao (Macao government exhibition area), Portuguese Elements in Macao (exhibition area for products of Portuguese-speaking Countries), Taste of Macao (creative cuisine exhibition area), Macao Fashion (fashion and culture exhibition area), Macao Nostalgia (Macao souvenir exhibition area) and Macao Style (household goods exhibition area), etc.

In addition to product exhibition, the organiser had integrated elements with Macao’s industrial characteristics into the Fair, with the objective to promote optimisation of industrial structure and economic diversification of Macao. Various business activities were held, including the “Macao-Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei MICE Cooperative Forum and MICE Project Promotion Seminar”, the “Tianjin-Macao Clothing Brands and Designers Networking Session”, the “Tianjin-Macao Trade Exchange Session and Presentation of Products from Portuguese-speaking Countries”, the “Forum on the Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship among Overseas Chinese in Binhai New Area”, the “Tianjin-Macao Young Entrepreneurs Business Matching Symposium”, and the “Tianjin-Macao Tourism Promotion Symposium”.
