IPIM and Shanghai Diamond Exchange enter into co-operation agreement

The 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) took place on 7 and 8 June 2018. During the event, 14 special forums, symposiums, parallel forums and events, over 160 business meetings and matching sessions were held in two days, and 17 co-operation project agreements were signed, including 3 involving the collaboration between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, yielding fruitful results.

The Opening Ceremony was officiated by the Chief Executive Chui Sai On, Director of the Liaison office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR Zheng Xiaosong, Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan, Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea Franciso Pascual Obama Asue, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province Lu Yongzheng, Vice Commissioner of Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macao SAR Yuen Hengge, President of the Legislative Assembly of Macao Ho Iat Seng and Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tak, as well as other heavyweight guests.

Guided by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Government of Macao Special Administrative Region, and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, and jointly organised by the China International Contractors Association and IPIM, the 9th IIICF was joined by over 1,800 politicians, businessmen and academics from more than 66 countries and regions, including 56 ministerial-level officials and representatives of over 630 companies related to the Fortune 500 of 2017, including Chinese and foreign financial investment institutions, international contractors, consultancy institutions and suppliers of industrial chain service.

The 9th IIICF featured the theme New Growth Drivers for Better Infrastructure and Closer Connectivity. During the event, the organisers released the Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index (2018) and the Annual Report on the Development of Belt and Road Construction (2018). The Forum also set up exhibition area, wherein 34 exhibitors showcased their bests in nearly 60 booths, covering a wide array of professions including equipment manufacturing, design consultancy, architectural materials, engineering and construction.

The 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum will be held in Macao from 30 to 31 May 2019.
