IPIM Organises Macao-Thailand Investment and Tourism Promotional Seminar

The Macao-Thailand Investment and Tourism Promotion Seminar hosted by IPIM

IPIM organised a trade and economic delegation of 50 and joined the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Chui Sai On on the visit to Bangkok, Thailand from 9 to 11 May. During the visit, IPIM organised the Macao-Thailand Investment and Tourism Promotion Seminar and the “One Country, Two Systems” and “Participation in the Development of the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ ” Photo Exhibition. The events were held to highlight Macao’s role in supporting the development of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, as well as it strength as the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. It also helped enterprises to seize the business opportunities brought by China, countries along the “Belt and Road” and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and shared the fruit of mutual benefits.

During the promotion seminar, IPIM’s President Jackson Chang gave a speech and the Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand Vannaporn Ketudat introduced business opportunities in Thailand and the functions of the department. More than a hundred business discussion and networking sessions involving food, hotel supplies, spa supplies, medical, tourism and entertainment, recycled plastic materials, as well as imports and exports were held. Five memoranda of co-operation were signed between Thailand and Macao during the event involving co-operation in tourism, trade and economic and hotels between the government and business associations.

The delegation also visited local food stuff, oil and beverage manufacturing enterprises, as well as an integrated tourism-related development invested by Macao enterprises and shared their business experience.
