IPIM’s visit to Mozambique

Meeting of IPIM’s representative and Director General of Mozambique’s Investment Promotion Center

Aiming to fully utilise Macao’s strength as the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and taking into consideration that Mozambique will be the “partner country” of the 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), IPIM visited Mozambique from 19 to 20 March with the objectives of promoting the upcoming exhibition in October as well as enhancing trade and economic networking between the two places.

During the visit, the IPIM delegation met with several officials including Mozambique’s Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário, Economic Adviser to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Mozambique Liu Xiaoguang, Director General of Mozambique’s Investment Promotion Center Lourenço Sambo, Deputy President of Mozambique Chamber of Commerce Arlindo Duarte, Deputy Chairperson of Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) Castigo Nhamane and the General Director of the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IPEME) Claire Zimba. Discussions were conducted on collaboration in the trade and economic sectors.

The IPIM delegation also visited various infrastructure and restaurant projects invested by Macao enterprises in Maputo and was briefed on the project development.
