The 2017 Networking Seminar on Economic, Technology and Trade Co-operation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, co-organised by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong SAR Government and co-ordinated by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong, was held in Hong Kong on 27 July. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in HKSAR Qiu Hong, Vice-Governor of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province Yuan Baocheng and the Acting Financial Secretary James Lau. Around 600 guests including representatives form the government and business sectors in Guangdong and Hong Kong attended the seminar. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Zheng Jianrong.
IPIM’s Executive Director Gloria Ung led a delegation and attended the opening ceremony. During the Thematic Seminar on Strengthening Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Innovative Co- operation, the Deputy Director of the Youth Committee of the Macao Chamber of Commerce Ma Chi Tat, gave a speech as the representative of Macao.
