2017 Guangzhou-Macao Co-operation Taskforce Meeting

The 2017 Guangzhou-Macao Co-operation Taskforce Meeting was held in Macao on 5 July During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the progress of co-operation over the past year and also exchanged views on accelerating collaboration in key areas as well as seizing opportunities to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on various topics such as fully utilising the strengths of the Nansha Free Trade Zone and the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries; jointly promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative; strengthening the exchanges and networking of professionals between Guangdong and Macao, increasing employment opportunities for the citizens in the two places; continuing the efforts in promoting networking and co-operation in vocational training in tourism, enhancing financial collaboration between Guangdong and Macao, as well as fostering Guangdong and Macao youth co-operation and networking. A bilateral agreement on co-operation of convention and exhibition industry between Macao and Guangzhou was also signed between IPIM and the Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce during the meeting.
